Earlier this week, Cristina Eisenberg shared the story of wolf OR7, nicknamed Journey, and his possible mate. Journey captured hearts as he roamed between Oregon and California. This type of dispersal is crucial for all the large carnivores in North America, but there's lots to get in the way. Roads, fences, and deforested areas can all cause detours or death. Eisenberg explores the issue, its posterchildren like Journey and Pluie, and the creative ways these obstacles are being made easier for wildlife to navigate in the first chapter of her new book, The Carnivore Way.
