In the latest episode in our series of Urban Resilience Project (URP) podcasts in partnership with Infinite Earth Radio, host Mike Hancox speaks with Fred Smith, the Director of Stringfellow Health Fund Grants at the Community Foundation of Northeast Alabama. Smith, in partnership with the TKF Foundation, is fostering healthy communities through the creation of 18 urban green spaces — dubbed Sacred Places.

“We knew that this initiative would provide the community with positive alternatives and positive spaces that wouldn’t just last one day,” says Smith. “There’s definitely a health benefit to encouraging people to participate with nature, reflect in nature, and benefit from the beauty of nature.”
