Katie Dolan, MBA, MES, and MFA, is an environmental writer. She is Chair of the Island Press board, Co-Chair of the Zoos and Aquarium Committee of the Wildlife Conservation Society, and an Advisor on the Tufts Veterinary School board. She is also pursuing a Masters degree in English Literature from Middlebury's Bread Loaf School. Katie previously served as Executive Director of St. Joseph's Hospital, where she developed innovative clinical practice guidelines, and as Executive Director of The Nature Conservancy Eastern New York Chapter, where she helped create climate change adaptation programs, conservation measures, and sustainability initiatives. Katie and her husband, Peter, live in Rhode Island. They have two grown sons and two large Newfoundlands.
