Pamela Murphy is an active volunteer for a number of organizations. In addition to serving as the Chair of the Island Press Board of Directors, she also serves on the board for the National Botanic Garden Fund and is a Trustee of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation. Pamela previously worked in finance for Citibank and as a managing consultant at Russell Reynolds for several years, after which time she and her family lived in Paris and London. She received her B.A. in History from Brown University and her degree in Practical Horticulture from the English Gardening School. Pamela has four daughters and lives with her husband, Byrne, in Maryland.
