Alec Appelbaum

Alec Appelbaum is a journalist and teacher covering how cities can become more resilient. He has written opinion pieces for the New York Times, taught master’s candidates at Pratt Institute, followed starchitects’ travails for Fast Company and New York magazines, and produced a white paper on energy efficiency for the Rockefeller Foundation.  Since 2009, Alec has worked to help readers and students prepare for the challenge of coping with climate change.  He does this as a teacher in high schools, a participant on the influential Garrison Institute Climate, Mind and Behavior network and a strategic adviser to organizations that fight the causes of childhood obesity.
