Environmental Film Festival in the Nation's Capital

The Environmental Film Festival in the Nation’s Capital (EFF) is the world’s premier showcase for environmentally themed films. Through their annual festival, year-round programs, and online resources, they seek to advance public understanding of the environment through the power of film. Founded in 1993, EFF is the largest and longest-running environmental film festival in the United States.

Each March in Washington, DC, EFF presents more than 100 films, including documentaries, narratives, animations, archival films and shorts, selected to provide fresh perspectives on environmental issues facing Earth to an audience of over 30,000. Screenings are enhanced by discussion with distinguished filmmakers, scientists, environmental experts, and cultural leaders and take place at Washington’s leading museums, embassies, libraries, universities, and local theaters. Over 80 percent of the screenings are free, and all are open to the public. The 24th annual Environmental Film Festival will take place March 15-26, 2016. “Parks: Protecting Wild,” exploring the vital role of parks and protected areas on our planet, will be the focus of a selection of 2016 Festival films. The complete schedule will be posted on their website, www.dceff.org, in February.
