Production Assistant

The Production Assistant will assist the team to usher books through to the final product, serving as the liaison between Island Press and our printers and e-book vendors, and coordinating the e-book program. The Production Assistant will also attend and participate in meetings with the Editorial and Marketing teams to collaborate on the manufacturing specs for various titles, as well as to coordinate the reprinting of titles.

We hire interns for the fall, spring, and summer terms. We look for interns who are interested in learning about the book publishing field, the environment, or non-profit organizations. We especially want to encourage you to apply if your background is under represented in publishing or environmental policy or you hadn't considered any of these career paths before.

Looking ahead to summer 2020? We are always accepting applications for future terms. Recruiting will begin once we determine our departmental needs. Internships are unpaid, volunteer positions and we request 10-20 hours per week. Please note your availability when applying. Student Director

The Island Press staff and its Board of Directors are looking to recruit two Student Directors over the next year who would each serve a two-year term. We are now welcoming applications from degree-seeking undergraduate or graduate students in good academic and disciplinary standing for a Director beginning in the fall of 2019.
