Book Production Assistant (Part-time)
Not everyone was meant to be on the front lines tagging lions or cleaning streams in their pursuit of helping the environment. Just as important are those behind the scenes who help share information necessary for professionals, academics, and the general public to be better informed about the world around them. At Island Press, you can use your keen attention to detail, love of the written word, and desire to help the environment as a Production Assistant. You will be able to learn real-world skills necessary for success in the production department of a publishing house, as well as the inner workings of an environmental non-profit organization.
The Publishing Fellowship is intended to serve as a pathway to a successful career in publishing, environmental communications, non-profit management, or related fields. The Fellowship Program is designed to support the professional development of people with marginalized identities, who may have felt excluded from the industry.
We hire interns for the fall, spring, and summer terms. We look for interns who are interested in learning about the book publishing field, the environment, or non-profit organizations. We especially want to encourage you to apply if your background is under represented in publishing or environmental policy or you hadn't considered any of these career paths before.
This summer we are able to offer paid, part-time internships and have a position available in Development/Fundraising. Click here for the full description and application instructions.
